Toronto Recap

IMG_5420Ah, beautiful Toronto! I’ve recently been traveling quite often to Toronto for business, but normally only stay a day or two. A few weeks ago, I decided to extend by business trip and stay the weekend. My Mom joined me for the weekend and we ventured around the city, exploring and dining our way through Toronto. The hotel was right near Toronto’s Old City Hall, which architecture is stunning to say the least.

On Thursday night, my co-workers and I tried out Fring’s, a new restaurant opened by Drake (yes, Drake) and Chef Susur Lee that had just opened to the public that week! You can check out this article written about the restaurant, or visit their website or Instagram. The food was incredible – we started with the oysters, and the Avocado Spread toast, Mushroom & Winter Truffle Pappardelle, Susur Burger (yes, we shared it), and my favorite, the Southern Spicy Maple Fried Chicken. The ambiance was exactly how you would picture a restaurant by Drake – dimly lit, plush chairs, and Hotline Bling playing over the speakers.

On Friday, my Mom flew into Toronto Pearson Intl in the afternoon and met up with me at the hotel. We started by heading to the CN Tower, where we checked out the insanely beautiful view overlooking Lake Ontario. We grabbed a quick lunch at Horizons Restaurant, soaking in the breathtaking view of the city. Would recommend eating here for the view, not the food.

IMG_5602IMG_5595For dinner, we checked out Toronto’s Distillery District, and made a reservation at El Catrin, where the food was amazing, but the ambiance was even better! I need those lights in my life, now. The next day, we checked out the NHL Hall of Fame and dined out near our hotel. Overall – an amazing trip and I can’t wait to return!
