Happy Friday! I’m currently blogging from Minneapolis where I had to dash after Fashion Week for work meetings. If you’re curious, apart from blogging, I work in IT in the beauty industry. Running to different shows & events, and then jumping on a plane, made these past few weeks some of the busiest yet. But, I’ve been really looking forward to writing this post because of the surreal experience at NYFW I had this time around. Even though words may not do it justice, I’m going to recap my week!
I had the opportunity to attend the Noon by Noor presentation on Thursday, along with the Nicole Miller presentation on Friday after work. Thursday was the day it snow-stormed, so my outfit was a bit more casual – I wore a layered gray coat from Mango, burgundy Zara scarf, black tights, metallic Miu Mius sneakers, and matching silver shades. Both shows were incredible – I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to attend! Shoutout to my roommate Sam for helping with the Nicole Miller accessories!
Saturday was sooo busy, and if you ask Sam, Andrea, or I, they will definitely say the same. I ran to Up & Out in Hoboken to get my hair braided (I just love it!) and made my way to Skylight Clarkson where I met up with Sam and Andrea before the Taoray Wang presentation. I’ve linked what we’re all wearing below! The Taoray Wang presentation was the highlight of my week – sitting next to my two friends watching the most dynamic presentation was surreal and something I’ll always remember. This week really reminded me why I love my friends – they’re go-getters, passionate about what they do, and will stop at nothing to achieve their goals. I’m definitely lucky to have such creative and inspiring people in my life. After the show, I headed to brunch at Once Upon a Tart in Soho with a few more girl bosses – Alyssa, Jordan, and Amanda, and we eventually met up with Andrea and Sam again to check out the ShopStyle Social House.
The rest of the week was insane – I attended a few more presentations: Jill Stuart, Francesca Liberatore, Mimi Prober, and Nina Tiari, before I puttered out and accepted my NYFW defeat. While it’s an amazing, breathtaking, and truly incredible week, it’s exhausting if you don’t balance everything, or overbook yourself. My best advice was to be present in the moment, especially during the shows or around the bigger venues – I tried to use my phone sparingly so I could really feel the energy of the moment and appreciate the art of fashion. Here’s to September!
