Last week I flew down to South Florida for a mini winter get-away during President’s Day weekend. Conveniently, we missed the coldest Valentine’s Day in NYC on record, dropping to -1 degree (brrrrr). In Florida, we stayed in Highland Beach, right outside of Boca Raton, but also had the chance to venture to Ft. Lauderdale and Miami during the weekend.

The weather was beautiful – sunny and warm with a high of about 75 degrees. The first day, we lounged on the beach and by the pool, soaking up some rays. I’m definitely into the crocheted swimsuit trend, and stocked up on a few for our trip and the upcoming summer season. I paired the Lisa Maree ‘A Sunny Winter’ Bikini Top with the bottoms from the ‘Between Thoughts’ Bikini, both a matching Wine color. I’ve linked a few of my favorite crocheted swimsuits and cover-ups below. I also ended up purchasing the Becca by Rebecca Virtue ‘La Boheme’ One-Piece, but didn’t get the opportunity to wear it. Only a few more months until summer!
The next few days were filled with friends, drinks, and a lot of good food. On Valentine’s Day, we brunched at Oceans 234 in Deerfield Beach, FL. We started off with a few mimosas and specialty drinks while we browsed the menu. For starters, we ordered the Lobster Potato Skins, Infamous Lollipop Chicken Wings, and some raw oysters (my absolute favorite food). Everything was amazing, so on we ordered… Next, we had the Cap’n Crunch, Banana and Nutella French Toast and Lobster Mac & Cheese (pictured below). I napped for about three hours after that meal – but that’s a sign of a successful brunch!
I was sad that I eventually had to leave behind the sunshine and the warmth – but it’s only made me more excited to plan my next trip!
